But in the episode Ricochet, you can see Thunderbird 3 hovering over it's landing spot, so it must have some kind of rocket-system to make it do that. IMO, if incase something like a giant ship being beached on shore and the whole thing must be saved, clearly Thunderbird 2 couldn't lift the whole thing by itself. That's why you see all three Thunderbirds lifting the ship.
Uh, I think you're thinking of Thunderbird 5 when you say that. Thunderbird 3 Is used for space rescue and a way of transport from Tracy Island to Thunderbird 5
