I think it's sad that everyone remembers 'Hand Jive', but this much superior song is so rarely heard in comparison.

The music industry has always been political and alwas will be.In the 50'd you needed aboost from Dick Claek or ed Sullivan to hit the big time.Johnny Otis never got the backing or the boost that he deserved.He was an exceptional talent,and itsso sad that he's finally getting recognition 50 years too late.

Can someone please tell me what year and how Johnny Otis died? Or if he stil alive?? im searching everywhere... :S

Hi, Johnny Otis is still alive. He is not involved in any activities because of his health (I think he is 87 now), but a few years ago he still had a radio show called the Johnny Otis Show and a record company, J&T Records.
