This is version 2.0 of the Bluetooth SNES Controller. The primary difference here is the fact that it uses a usb rechargeable lithium ion battery. The circuit design has also undergone an overhaul, and while I can't go into the details, it is a much cheaper design in terms of total cost in parts. Other than that it is still the same as my last model in that it plays any Android emulator, and for HTC users it doesn't require a root (and voided warranty).

If you are interested in purchasing one of these, go to http://ingenu.co/ and sign up for the mailing list, hopefully the first batch will be available soon!

  • Don't worry about the people complaining about you tearing up old school hardware. Your making it better, just like the people that make pc's that fit inside a nes. Personally I love your hack, I would love to be able to do it. Are you planing on having a DIY kit for it. I think it would be a great kit for my son and I to do together.

  • @mwarner416 Thanks for taking an interest in the project. I don't currently have a DIY kit for this, but I could give you a more hobbyist friendly parts list along with my code and instructions from the first generation version of this controller. While the version in this video was a lot cheaper in parts, it was a lot more complicated to assemble. If you refer to my last video, you'll see the tutorial link.

  • Nice upgrades Rich! Are you still using the same version of SNES connect?

  • @08ScottyC Thanks man, I'm still jealous of your multicolor flashing LED though haha. But yeah still the same version of SNES Connect, although I'm probably going to rewrite it sometime this week. I did update the Arduino code so that it fixes the diagonal movements issue in emulators that aren't snes9x. When I finish the next major update I'll send the app your way.

Yeah, I mean, do many people still have a SNES to plug the controller into?

Well, I did... until it finally bit the dust last year.
