Well, Bloodsport, the album this song is one, came out in 2002, so no.

But, they got together in '95, inspired by Massive Attack, Portishead, and Tricky, which had highly successful albums released at the time.

Trip-Hop has receded into obscurity since then, but several bands keep its influence alive, notably Bitter:Sweet, who have had quite a bit of success, particularily after having a song used for a Desperate Housewives commercial.
