Because it is relatively cheap to run and affordable as far as warbirds go and great fun to fly!

Wow, I'm surprised they didn't choose the P-41 or the Mitzubishi Zero over the CJ-6.
Why don't they get some of the armed versions of the CJ-6, the CJ-6B?
