they used different techniques to reach this, also parts were drawn in flash or ai. if you looked this movie, see episode when tank crashes a car, I also saw brakedown of this car, it more parts there than in face

hmm seems very complicated.. i thought its handdrawn 2d animation.. or something like morphing between a few poses. well very interresting!

It's drawn by hand,from images and from illustrations, scanned I think and traced, but most they draw parts in Ai or Flash
