In this video I show the capabilities of the worlds first brushless drill made by Festool. I drive a 14" screw into the end of a treated 2 x 4 to show there is no strain. You can't burn out the gun since there are no brushes!

  • how many Nm?

  • 54 years old and seen millions of screws working for north texas nut, bolt & screw & arlington fasteners but this is the first time I ever saw a 14" screw. Didn't even know they made one that long.

  • @ron1martens I'm talking about an 18v cordless hammedrill. I abuse the crap out of it in our pacific NW rainforest out here, but it's still with me after...I don't know, not less than 8 years. for the price of the festool I could buy 3 more... Interesting tho, our old Milwaukee paddle drill has the same chuck issue... its never tight enough to stay put. And, sure an 16"dx3/4" auger hole is a job for a hole hawg, but my cordless dewey did it...just sayin.

  • @ephem9 Yes I have a dewalt mixing drill 450 rpm. I have had it for maybe 20 years. After 15 years I replaced the bushes. The problem mixing mortar is the chuck needs a lot of tightening. That would probably suit you more for auger drilling. I have since bought a festool mixing 6 speed drill. The festool doesn't bog down like the dewalt But in saying that the dewalt is still going. Still the festool at a higher price is worth it.

  • Thats very impressive. The 12 volt in the festool range must be similar to 14.4 volts for competitors. I have panasonic cordless tools which are possibly a little down to the festool range. Imagine the 15.6 volt festool and the 18 volt. Festool said it didn't need to have an 18 volt as their 15 volt was ample. But maybe due to public demand they built an 18 volt. A pity you bought before the new t loc system.

  • Festool t 12 +3 is a brilliant drill use it for smaller stuff and fine work. I also have a hilti t22 for site work and a milwaukee impact driver for driving hundreds of screws. The festool is a powerful drill but i'd use my 22 volt for driving screws like that and auger bits. Festool is the best for fitting skirting and kitchens and fine furniture. Its the bugatti of fine woodworking.

  • of course the germans make everything good =) what's the difference between the 12, 15, and 18?

  • Festool is expensive but if you actually use them you understand why. I could probably fashion my own hand brace with a touch of welding and some bent steel and drive screws with that for under 15 bucks but why would I bother when there are better options available? these are well built efficient machines the brushless motors are nearly invincible. You go ahead and ride your unicycle to work, I'll be taking the porsche thank you very much.

  • wow, reading through these comments is really messed up... this guy is obviously proud of his drill, if he can afford and is happy with his purchase it let it be. we all have our own preferences. some like festool, some like other brands... like petrorr said, in the end its just a TOOL we use to get the job done

  • I learn how to drive 3 weeks ago my aunt said to my uncle i drove like it was nothing and i am 13 years old. I did this in mexico not in usa. mexico is awesome do what ever you want and wont get busted by the cops
