Well that not a hornet nest, its yellow jacket nest and yes it would be cool for everyone to tap the window too. Luckly they arent smart enough to go around front or back door and tap your ass lol.

You should make there a note on the window : "Please, close the window before taping this----->,or ... we'll see then"

They are bald-faced hornets, but they are not actually a true hornet. It is correct to identify them as yellow jackets or white-faced hornets, so stop calling people incorrect for calling them hornets. They build giant paper nests, and so hold qualitites of hornets, but are of a completely different genus. Hope that clears some things up.
