Samsung revealed the first prototype of their new NX hybrid camera system at PMA 2009. Based on an APS-C sensor but with no reflex mirror system as found in DSLRs, the NX format proves a camera that is smaller than a DSLR but still has interchangeable lenses much like the rival Micro Four Thirds system launched last year by Panasonic and Olympus.
@theclockster you said it right there m8. Even if one manages to make a a flagship model DSLR user friendly for a 3yr old a pro will always remain a pro. Its a technological version of the natural evolution.. Its just the semi-pros who cry about this, so they can't show off their cheap skills. those who know there way around stuff will not even be bothered by this.

not very attractive in looks. Why creat a half slr and half pointshoot. all that means its still fairly large withless capabilities for the size...might as well go slr

Who's gonna buy this camera? It's vaporware, so no one. Go buy an Olympus EP-1 instead.

Why? Technology is progressing all the time and anything that can make people buy good cameras to a reasonable price is a great thing. Stop complaining, no one will ever force you to buy one...
