Only after watching this like ten times I realize that Disney's beast was heavily inspired by Jem´s version

@mansonii i agree

this song here proves Jem was a better band than even the misfits. So many fans say the misfits had better song. Even though I feel that the misfits had more "hard hitting" songs there song were pretty one note. Yes Jems songs could SOMETIMES be just sugary syrupy love songs, but they sang on a wider range than just that. Like this was a kick ass song in that it had a strong empowering message in it. Many times you would have to watch a whole episode to appriciate Jem's songs.

@chain2fate Which in my opinion, that makes Jem better and superior than to Barbie.

I miss the 80s music the music had meaning and poetry to it like this song all thats out there now is garbage. I refuse to listen to any thing in mainstream music...I choose to tune out all radio stations except new age and classical.

when the Disney film of Beauty And The Beast was successful in theaters, they made it into a Broadway Stage Musical, and it too was successful.
could this episode from the "Jem" Series have inspired that possibility? probably not, but hey. you never know. right?

i remember this episode, really creepy

@mansonii TM1: Amen!

This song sums up abusive relationships in a nutshell.

A little serious for a Jem song, but still good
"If you abuse me, you'll only lose me" ...Unfortunately with lyrics like that this cartoon was doomed to fail because its target audience was kids but really the show appealed to mature kids who could appreciate lines like that. The Barbie audience just wanted pretty hair and clothes and Jem was way too sophisticated for that. We only have 65 shows but I'm glad we have it instead of mindless crap Barbie counts on.

Gotta admit, the moral of the song should be heard more these days.
