Charlton Heston and Warren Oates in Peckinpah's Major Dundee

The quick trial/execution scene from Sam Peckinpah's Major Dundee. A team of unlikely crusaders (Confederates, African Americans, federal troops with a semi nihilist major to command them) chase a more than maverick Indian leader in Mexico. One of them (Oates) is deserter. They briefly judge the evidence and execute him. Memorable moments from Heston ("I don't want to look up at him.") and an OK performance from Oates.
PS: I've just learned Heston died yesterday.

@johnnynoirman ooppss sorry. I mis read the passage. ironically warren oates and i attended the same high school and are from the same city in kentucky. the drama department at the university of louisville has a plaque in his honor. i remember warren oates best as sergeant hulka from stripes
