It'd be a good idea for the houses to be individual, not large communities.

It works well only in particular places with vast stretches of land... it reminds me of the medieval city (where both integration of community and a labyrinth-like setup for strategic defense would result). Definitely can't visualize it in densely packed vertical cities- the lateral expansion of these units will only become difficult to control and has to be site-specific.

I don't see this being built as an urban mess. There's a huge potential for efficient non-traditional organization here. Ever since the Romans, everyone's been obsessed with gridded cities.

I like the idea, but dont u think there will be an "urban mess?" I cannot imagine how to memorize the right way to work in the morning :D
