GTA IV working well on a low-end PC! Yes I know the video is complete rubbish and boring, but I just wanted to show the game can work well on low-end computers too, and I wanted to upload a GTA IV video :D

My PC Specs:
Vista 32-bit OS
Dell Inspiron 530
2 Core Duo 2.66Ghz
4GB RAM
ATI Radeon 2600XT 256MB Video Card

My in-game settings:
1440x900 res
Medium textures
Highest rendering
2 view distance
Highest detail distance
Medium Vehicle Density
Highest Shadow Density

The game looks much slower on this video because recording with FRAPS slowed it down alot, without FRAPS the game runs much faster with hardly any lag. I get an average of around 15 FPS while playing, but it's not laggy unless I'm involved in a police chase or big fight or something, and even then it only goes down to around 6/7 minimum.

Issues:
-The card I have (2600XT) and other ones in the series cause "z-fighting" to occur in the game, whereby there are lots of black flickery lines on posters and buildings etc. To fix this, install the newest driver 9.1, it fixed it for me and now the game looks much better.
-Because the game is poorly scripted, you are gonna get textures popping up randomly and not appearing, but a work around is to create a commandline.txt file in your GTA IV root folder and follow the infomation here: http://www.gtaforums.com/index.php?showtopic=384473 (it is a slightly different method to just adding a commandline, as it "tricks" the game)
It drastically improved my graphics, so that I could see them from a distance, and improved my frame rate slightly. Also it allowed me to give myself 1440 x 900 resolution, without using commandline I wouldn't have been able to get it cause I didn't have enough memory allowance left /256MB.

GTA IV ATI radeon, GTA IV radeon 2600XT, GTA low end PC, GTA low settings, GTA low PC, GTA high quality, GTA IV gameplay, gta IV pc gameplay, GTA IV stunts, GTA IV cheats, GTA IV trailer, GTA IV secrets, GTA IV multiplayer, GTA IV glitches, GTA IV mission, GTA IV online, GTA IV strip club, GTA IV prostitution, GTA IV shooting, GTA IV shooting cops, GTA IV liberty city, GTA IV killing, GTA IV music video

  • fail !! this si xbox 1:49 !!! fake and gay

  • um are you a troll? This is most definitely the PC version, I was using a logitech controller to control it (had to d/l a mod)

I have played the Xbox 360 version and the graphics are no way as decent as on here, but it runs a lot smoother on the 360. and I dunno what you mean about 1:49 but it comes up with that on the PC version too, you do realise they just literally ported it from the console to the PC? Shoddily though. Also it may have come up with that because I had a controller plugged in?

  • @oddha You think Xbox has bad graphics like this?? (no offence to xvixxenx)

  • @attomal xbox graphics are even worse than these graphics. I bought the game for xbox 360 expecting them to be amazing but they are horrid and jaggedy and just as poorly detailed as on the PC.

  • how about the slim version

  • Whats odd and maybe you cant notice it, but Gta IV on consoles niko does not have as much recoil with the combat pistol yet on pc his reaction to the recoil is more realistic.

  • no log but no roads or buildings...ill just keep it short and simple, for recomendations of gta iv my stuff is godly...and ive tried multiple graphic enhancers and all that shit and it pisses me the fuck off...

  • @oddha dumb fuck you can use xbox 360 controllers on pc version

  • i got the 530s can u link me the cpu ur using? cause this 2.2 ghz shit aint working for me.........

  • how did u get it to work so well, i have 2600 PRO' and it lags very bad, which version do you have? and did you optimise anything? because mine lags on 800x600 and everithyng low, anwser plz

  • @xvixxenx Nah, xbox graphics are better than this, a little better. But thats the best they will ever get. Not the PC. It has basically unlimited potential.

  • I have this PC with an ATI 2600 XT and this PC will run Crysis on medium settings no problem. I need to upgrade my graphics card though and maybe go with a 64 bit OS.

  • I don't know why, but with that kick ass music and the game play, I felt really moved :)

  • That's not running well
