Ed Robertson of TV Confidential (www.tvconfidential.net) remembers "The Wild, Wild West" along with media historian Matt LeBlanc, TV historian Bruce Dettman and Vallejo Times-Herald staff writer Derek Wilson on RETRO NIGHT, the weekly salute to classic television shown Sundays at 8pm on KOFY TV20 in San Francisco (www.kofytv.com). Here they compare and contrast the original "Wild, Wild West" with the 1999 theatrical version starring Will Smith and Kevin Kline, and why the movie failed to capture the essence of the original series. Our thanks to KOFY for the use of this segment.
Sorry guys, nobody should have EVER touched the role of Artemus Gordon. Ross Martin IS and ALWAYS WILL BE the only Artemus Gordon. Kevin Kline is a good actor, but Artemus he's not! Nobody wuld match the performance that Ross Martin gave in this role.
