  • I liked this. Can't afford a pasta making machine with how the economy is right now so I loved how to do this with a roller

    .

  • @zulemars It works pretty well too..I've gotten it down quickly and it does impress when you can make pasta for dinner..

  • it really does cook quickly. Usually you'd do your sauce and put it aside, then 3-4 minutes for the pasta, and toss.

Couple things: don't use olive oil in the water. Some folks do this to keep pasta from sticking. The oil seals up the pasta and won't let the sauce be absorbed into it.

But the most important rule - lots of salt in the boiling water. My italian friends always say "the water should be as salty as the Mediterranean". Remember, flavor comes from salt or fat.. ;)

  • Oh dear, it shows he's from the South no one in the North ill treats the soft wheat pasta like this!

  • @chef40126 Heh - it's still better than the pasta you buy in the box here...

  • Yea I love how hw blows his germs on the pasta!!!

  • @yootubbo Dude, they also cook the pasta in boiling water ;)

  • like the video, it's cool to compare with how Chef Marc Vetri does it...check out our Pasta Making vid, let us know who's better, Jamie or Marc. Vetri = best chef in Philly

  • Cooks in about 3m not 10m like boxed pasta

  • So do I cook this type of pasta the same way I would cook boxed pasta?

  • @disndat11 the normal recipe uses 2 eggs and 2 cups of flour with a pinch of salt. Some people also use a few teaspoons of water to help kneed the dough

  • sexual

  • So how much flour was in the bowl?

  • @blogegog You have never tasted 'proper' eggs until you get them fresh from a farm or free-range
