Winter Mountaineering Course Climbing Jacob's Ladder 27th March 2002

Talisman Scottish Winter Mountaineering course participants climbing their first Grade 1 snow gully in Coire an t-Sneachda in the Cairngorms.
The popular five day Winter Mountaineering course teaches all the basics of safe winter walking with ice axes and crampons, weather, avalanche awareness and snow holing.
Uniquely it is also an introductory winter climbing course and you are taught basic rope work, belays, abseiling and climbing skills on Grade 1/2 snow gullys and winter ridges.
Other than a good level of summer hill walking fitness and a sense of adventure no previous winter walking or climbing experience is required.
