It was ORDERED to be evacuated.
Nobody knew for sure if anyone was still inside, wounded or too daft to flee it doesn’t matter. No way to blow it up lawfully until a full Fire Chief’s Inspection, and that would require weeks to obtain under the circumstances.

Danny doesn’t mention New York City fire codes. You can’t send men with EXPLOSIVES into a building that is ON FIRE, and that may very well be unstable enough to suffer partial break aways of floors.
Envision flaming chunks of building falling from the sky, and NO WAY you send in explosives into that type of mess!

Danny brings up the necessity of having to have a license to demolish a building that would take WEEKS to acquire, and THEN there is the ENORMOUS problem of securing INSURANCE against the possible death or injury of a demolition team going into a building that was just damaged and still burning. IMPOSSIBLE to get insurance for that without a complete damage survey with all fires extinguished for days.

fucking terrible, NIST said it fell due to a one column collapse which was caused by office fires.... i guess all tall buildings now need to be re-built as they're that weak..
