Beliefs should never be ridiculed. If they are close to someone's heart it's just rude to ridicule it. Maybe try to help them if you think you can add to what they believe or show them a new way, but don't be blatantly disrespectful. We all deserve care and respect.

@erp010 true, but not all belief are based on equally good reasons, therefore they should not be equally respected.
Do you equally respect a belief that elvis is alive, and a belief that sun will "rise" again tomorow?
Beliefs which are not based on reason, logic and evidence should be ridiculed not respected.
But hey that's just my belief ;D

The cool part is I ended up becoming fluent in Portuguese, and I got to freakin' live in another country for two years! Not many people at the age of 21 can say that.

I am a former member of the Church of Jesus Christ and latter day saints. I came to the realization after researching mormonism and Joseph Smith as a prophet of God that it was all a made up fairy tale. There was no Golden Plates. It's all a real good story and that is all it ever will be.
