Because "REM" was the other song listed on the setlist. It read "Paper Heart/REM".

Also, there is another video of the soundcheck where you can clearly hear him say "give me one more quiet night before this loud morning does it right...". As per Dave, that lyric is from REM.

I voice recorded this when he started singing it at soundcheck at BG. Although it's not clear because of people talking in line as he was singing, you can hear him sing the "give me one more quiet night"...lyrics. Definitely REM. Beautiful song. Even more beautiful because of his heartfelt vocals; Gave me goosebumps when he sang it.

How do we know if it's Rapid Eye Movement? It doesn't sound like he says those words in it. The ones I hear clearly are "trying to get back" and we don't have the lyrics for REM. I would LOVE this to be it, though, because it sounds like a great song.
