this video looks great but whenever i put my first foot down the wheel spins, aka horribly bruised shins. i can't get on at all. any suggestions?

hi.

Try leaning forward as you put your first foot down. The goal is to get the seat post vertical above the wheel.

Also, what you could try is sort of "jumping" up so that the wheel doesn't roll backwards as you put pressure on it.

I can now do this mount without thinking about it. Now it's rolling mounts, jump mounts and I finaly nailed suicide mounts yesterday. Thanks again for your help.

I've been riding for about 3 months now and still don't understand how to keep my pedal in the 7/8 o'clock position while I jump up without it going down to the 6 o'clock.

I can ride just fine, but my mounts are always sloppy and I feel like I don't have full control until after 1 or 2 full revolutions.

been triing to free mount from 3:30 to 6:45 before i saw this video haha going to try this tomorrow. i was keeping the pedal i step on at 6 o clock....guess thats where i went wrong :)

Try a small rock or 2x4 behind the tire.
