I'm ashamed that some of my fellow Bruce fans are so closed-minded. Just because Griffin ins't Bruce doesn't mean she shouldn't do this song, or that she doesn't do it well. Lighten up.

Patty Griffin's tone, alone, is so amazing that it makes me cry just from the pure joy and honor of hearing her sing a single word, a single note. This is a GREAT video. Thank you! She is the best singer/songwriter walking on this earth, in my opinion. If life was even partially fair, every music lover would have her name on the tip of their tongue.

@DiggyZazz It is an embarrassing mistake to sing the wrong lyrics of a song, and I am guessing that that is what happened here. I am sure she didn't mean any disrespect to the "racing culture" you speak of. Patty is a beautiful singer and songwriter; end of story.

This song is so beautiful, that all the covers are all right...
I can't explain why I've always loved the Patty Griffin's version: so pure, so simple and true. Maybe this "naked" version make us focus on the words. Anyway, thanks for this video from a Bruce French fan!
