He was a God among mortal men.

He wasn't the smartest guy, but certainly was a great lifter!

@IHVHandmind It's pretty individual, I've been Powerlifting on and off since 2004 and no injuries yet. Then again I weigh bugger all and aren't lifting crazy weights like these guys. I really feel some people are just susceptible to injuries; if their technique isn't spot on or they aren't biomechanically suited to the lift then it's probably only a matter of time before something gives. If you're interested in it I say give it ago, you won't know if you never try it. Cheers

what an inspiration.

@jyoung0000 - could you expound on what you mean by this? What kind of damage one might notice later in life from powerlifting? I'd like to know because I'm developing an interest in it.

really enjoyed this, this is real powerlifting. not like the abortion that is powerlifting today with all the rubber suits and shirts and squats that make the lifter look like they are doing the f*cking splits lol lol
-
you had to stand next to this guy in the gym to understand what impressive meant.

doug was an amazing lifter, seriously impressive as he appears to have injured himself on his last squat, and still won the contest.
This is real powerlifting and this is a real powerlifter. I really enjoy this video; thanks for posting it.
