Gina Bachauer plays one of Mozart's supreme piano concerto masterpieces in the 1950s. This is a historical vinyl record transfer. The whole performance is available on MP3 or CD - here - http://www.classical33.co.uk/proddetail.php?prod=5667

  • My God!! This is probably the first Bachauer to ever appear on YT, and not even a whole movement.

Oh well, back to the old LPs and CDs.

    Thanks, anyway.

  • You are wrong - it is the whole of the last movement, I never upload part movements.

  • then maybe you should edit the title since this is the 3rd movement and not the first one. :)

    great performance nevertheless.

  • Have edited it - I wanted to upload the 1st movement but the file was too big for you tube and I don't like to split.

  • Best piano concert ever written

  • Did you know that Bachauer was the only piano student Rachmaninoff had, because he lacked the time for teaching?

  • being the greatest is a bit overwhelmed, but you have to adapt such a feeling

  • Sorry- I LOVE Gina Bachauer but Rachmaninoff also taught the Great Ruth Slenczynska- my current teacher. She has wonderful stories about Rachmaninoff and substituted for him at a concert as a child. Then she worked with him and Cortot in Paris.

  • Nice recording.

  • Not true- Rach had several others, Abram Chasin had a few lessons and Ruth Sleczynska was prolly the one with him for the longest . Rach had 3 careers so he was a busy man.

  • @sosamuera I slightly disagree. I think the one before this is more unified and has a 3rd movement that is perfect to a note. This one comes in a very close second.

  • Yes, yes, yes. I fully agree.

    Sometime graceful, sometime powerful。

Though I am not a good classical music fan, I know this is one of the best piano concertos.
