so singles? interesting, the lobster board here just banned they're use here, seems like other fishermen were getting annoyed with all the buoys cluttering up the fishing grounds, really sad though, since they actually made it illegal to have trawls smaller then 5 and we only are fishing 275(possibly only 250 next year) traps.

but, it'll make the day a little quicker at least.

@flamedrag18 huh we fish both trawls and single gear here isnt that much of a conflict here between the two every one sets the trawls NE to SW, but i cant ever see them banning single gear cause trawls run kinda hard in the rocks

how much rope do you use ? Thanks

@HawaiianBubble The amount of rope we use depends on the depth we fish we have bouy lines any where from 2 fathoms to 70 fathoms.

Its my dads boat The Old Gessizer she fishes out of Port Mouton.

@zcr19 well, they made their decision, good or bad, so we can't do much about it, anyone fishing with less then 5 a trawl will be fined or worse, stopped for the year if it's bad enough.

we also put the trawls SW to NE, but we're cluttered, the government's doing a buy back to cut down on the number of traps in the water, it looked like the sea changed color in the spring, they also cut down the trap count by 25 to 250, so even better.

we're in a small area here and way too many licenses.
