A new Land Rover 3.0 litre diesel engine for 2010 Range Rover Sport and Discovery 4/ LR4 . Unique pairing of two turbos gives best of all worlds: no low speed turbo lag, great high speed performance and great economy.

  • super cool animation. So when RPM goes above 2,500 do both turbos make boost or ONLY the secondary turbo?

  • The primary turbo is a variable nozzle turbine and operates over the entire engine range but unlike more traditional single stage turbos the primary stage is sized to provide maximum transient performance up to approximately 2500rpm. Above 2500rpm the fixed geometry turbine secondary stage switches into operation splitting the engine gas flow between the two turbines.

  • Anyone know who manufactures the turbo?

  • gutless wonder compared to bmws 3.0ltr, and the 3.6v8 diesel is still gutless and just plain heavy

  • the airs going wrong way through first turbo when it comes apart!

If u look its exiting the centre!

  • Oh that makes sense, thanks!

  • Quite interesting how the couple of turbos work...

that's why Land Rover are the best 4x4xfar

  • Don't think the diesel is available here in the states, that sucks.

  • regarded by many, it is one the worlds best diesels for a car
