  • Hi , nice job. I have a question was the clss dictated at USA or at a foreign country?

  • Hi Carlos,

It was in the United States.

  • Very warm and experienced teacher. However, he could have modelled better. Firstly when asking ss what films they have seen, he should have given his own example first. Secondly when asking them to fill in cards, he should have had an example to demonstrate what he wanted. Modelling is a basic of EFL teaching and without it all sorts of misunderstandings arise. Apart from that and a bit of a topic jump from film to events in the students lives, I thought he was a great role model.

  • Hi Kameleonic & 6834033,

Thanks for your comments--those are all really good points. The goal of these videos is not to show a "perfect" class, just a "real" class where not everything always goes as planned and even experienced teachers make mistakes. It's good that you analyzed the video and came up with techniques that could have improved the class. That's exactly what we want people to do with them! :)

  • what do you mean by context?

  • What do you say to the student if you didn't understand what they said?

I could understand the girls but I didn't hear some words.

  • Thanks a lot. It very interesting way to get the ss grasp the meaning and be automatized for answering after your own example :

  • @BridgeTEFL Is it easy to find a job as an English Teacher (consider that you have taken a TEFL course) in the USA?

Which one is the easiest English native speaker ou a non-native speaker?

And what about post-graduation in English Language, is it common in the USA?

  • @gustopereira yes very good teacher, i googled fet system and found some good english resources over there too

  • The clip suggests that we are about to see how the past perfect is taught and then we get a lesson on the past simple. Also, you haven't replied to the person who reminded you that the present is often used to describe film plots in real world English. Is teh past simple being introduced for the first time here? If so we could focus on habitual action in the past e.g. I washed my hair yesterday, I got home late last night and so on. What did you do yesterday?
