KOF 2001 Arcade Run - Psycho Soldier Team 1/3

Let's just get this over with.

The King Of Fighters is the eighth game in the series and the conclusion of the NESTS Chronicles saga. This game was also the introduction of May Lee, Angel, K9999 and the return of Heidern. In addition, it was the first and only game in the series to feature Foxy as a playable character.

The striker system has been revamped and you can no longer call in strikers at any time. They also require one stock to use. In team mode, you get to pick who you use and who becomes a striker. The more strikers you have, the more stocks.

Oh yeah, Athena is the worst in this game, her outfit, her image, everything is just awful. But hey, at least she plays well.

Everyone was tweaked in this game, including the Psycho Soldiers. Kensou got his powers back, but he lost his close punch combo from 97 - 2000.

Athena lost her psyco shoot, but her Shining Crystal Bit juggles now (which is kinda cheap) and her combos are a bit easier to execute.

Chin and Bao were heavily modified. Chin requires a drink before using 80% of his specials, which sucks. But they do a bit more damage then any other specials in the game. Bao's hat got bigger (what a joy) and he lost most of his powers. Now He sucks even more then he did before.

This is easily my least favorite KOF game of all time. The music is generic and forgettable. I didn't care for the story much and it even introduced characters I don't like. Such as K9999 whom is my most hated in the entire series. (next to Bao) Not to mention the artwork is simply terrible. There was absolutely nothing special about this game, at all.

Seeing as this was my very first run ever, it was pretty good. The sound crippling is in high supply, but there isn't all that much delay. It's about the same as 2000. That is all.

@MrPekingCat athena's 2001 look is worse that of 2002. i think athena's look in 2002 is one of the best ones along with 98 and 97. athena's look in 2000 is the worst one :)

KOF fucking sucks its the most broken ass, cheapest fighting game on the planet. hell its the superman64/battletoads of fighting games and that's saying it sucks ass. the only good thing about it are the graphics but gameplay is utter Bullshit
