Muslim community backs the draft constitution

As debate over the draft constitution rages, a section of Muslim leaders now say that whereas they support the draft, they are yet to finalize their report to be presented to the committee of experts. They are currently collecting views from Muslims all over the country.

@githunguri2003 I think you are a complete idiot first for using such a bad and foul language. You have to understand that the Kadhi courts long before even the British came to Kenya. People in the Coast and North Eastern were ruling themselves justly and equitably under the kadhi courts. It was part of the agreement when Britain was annexing the coast line to leave the Khadi courts intact and they did that.

By the way do you know where one of them is located in Nairobi or in Kenya? My point is Khadi courts are designed to arbitrate matters personal to Muslims in a structured way. it would be joyous for Muslims just cut off from the rest of Kenya and combine coast and NEP. Trust they will be more prosperous. You will be coming to the new Dubai in Mombasa if that were the case.

The British who are more civilized and who brought you Christianity had no problem with the Khadi courts been in the constitution why should you have a problem? Obviously when the Brits were thinking and weighing this options you people were living like animals in the hinterland. The Khadi courts existed in the constitution of Kenya even long before independence can you tell me how they affected your life? Have you ever been called to attend a Khadi court?

exceptions have to be made for the Khadi courts as has been the case, if others want to have certain proposals added they are welcome to. but if its about shipping out to Somalia and Saudi all very well and we take coast province and North Eastern with us, see how you like to be landlocked...
