Wed, Apr 20, 2011 - It was pandemonium when James Blunt left his show at the House of Blues, finding himself instantly surrounded by a sea of fans. Boston was the first stop of his North American tour.
He signed anything and everything, but did not want to pose for pictures with fans. He announced numerous times to repeated requests: "I'm not gonna pose so much, but I'll be signing", "No, I'm not going to pose for pictures, now does anyone have anything else to be signed or not?", and "Anything else for me to sign? Anything else to sign?"
I got an index card signed mid-video. He remembered me from earlier in the day, and thinks I'm selling them. Nope, just a fan! He greeted me with a loud, "We're back again!" I said, "Yeah!" Then he said, "Yeah.. and how much does this make for you?", to which I replied, "It doesn't make anything" and "Thank you". Since I had gotten more than one, he had mistaken me for a dealer vs. a collector. Note I had to let go of the camera twice, once for me to pull out the index card to be signed, and then again for me to put it away.
And then to the last girl pleading with him for a photo op at the door
of his bus, he said, "No, I'm not gonna do that, because otherwise I'll have to do one for *every* single person.. it takes very long".
That was very nice of James to ask if there was any more to sign. He has such a good nature on top of his talent of just being who he is .
