More than two thousand illegal firearms have been destroyed as the government seeks to stem the tide on small arms and light weapons getting into the wrong hands. But as the guns went up in smoke, there were concerns among pastoralist communities that the government is carrying out the disarmament exercise without providing security alternatives. Since these are illegal arms, we just hope these guys are not destroying evidence as some of these might have used as murder weapons and could convict criminals on the run who might have used them. Normally its the small details that convicts criminals and good investigators know that.
