A distinct style commonly known in China as a feather pattern. Steel billets are twisted instead of the more commonly employed folding techniques to create this look. In this case, 2 opposing twists were used to create the symmetrical V pattern.

This was shot in natural sunlight where the pattern really jumps out in the area of optimal lighting. Notice that in less well lit parts, the pattern nearly vanishes. I am pleased...
