Air Sharing by Avatron, is a very handy app if you're looking for a file sharing server between your iPhone/iPod Touch and your computer. This app lets you set up a broad range of servers such as a mail server, FTP, SSH, MobileMe,
iCloud, iDisk, FilesAnywhere, or if you have another WebDAV not listed, then they have a "other Webdav" option. If you are an Apple Safari user you can even connect to Bonjour through Safari to connect with other iPhones (Pro version only). To use this app you can only use Wi-fi, seeing as your computer will only share files in its wireless range. So you can save files between your computer and your iPhone/iPod like a wireless hardrive, neat, huh? Well the features don't stop there, if you purchase the Pro version of Air Sharing ($9.99), you can email files, print them (with either Mac or Linux printer sharing), exchange those files between iPhones, view large PDF's and even print them (using same printer sharing), and even edit files with operations such as: move, copy, paste, rename, new folder. If you're a big business, network-dependent iPhone user who would like to print the presentation if you forgot it or, the Pro version is probably the way to go, if you just want to view the files and browse with some security, then you can save a few bucks and go with the standard version. The app is great with the only cons being timing out sometimes instead of trying to stay connected (probably my internet connection) and transferring file between servers (i.e. copying a file from my computer and pasting it into a website FTP. Other than that, this app is a great buy, if you like that kind of thing, but this is NOT a desktop viewer like a VNC app, this is only files.
