1956 Argentine Grand Prix

This is the first grand prix of the 1956 season. Mercedes-Benz stopped their racing program and Fangio was contracted by Ferrari, who bought the D50's from Lancia in 1955. Also Peter Collins and Eugenio Castelloti are now racing for the Scuderia. Maserati contracted Stirling Moss joining to the team composed a frenchman driver named Jean Behra and argentinian Carlos Menditeguy. The british cars, like the Vanwalls, Connaught and the BRM P25 are not ready yet and don't participate of this GP. The race was won by Fangio and Luigi Musso (With the D50 of this last driver). Behra finished 2nd and Mike Hawtorn (temporarily with a Maserati) finished 3rd.

Este es el primer gran Premio de la temporada 1956 de F-1. Mercedes-Benz detuvo su programa de competición, dejando libre a Fangio, quien fue contratado por Ferrari que contaba con las Lancia D50 compradas en 1955. Tambien Peter Collins y Eugenio Castelloti están ahora corriendo para la Scuderia. Maserati contrató a Stirling Moss uniendose al equipo compuesto principalmente ya por el francés Jean Behra y Carlos Menditeguy. Los autos britanicos, como Vanwall, Connaught y BRM aun no estaban listos y no se presentaron a este primer GP. Fangio compartiendo el auto con Musso ganó el GP, Behra finalizó 2do y Hawtorn (temporalmente con una Maserati) terminó 3ro.
