The two Patriot Acts of 2001 and 2006 and the Military Commission Act of 2006 have collectively limited constitutional rights to free speech, freedom of association, freedom from illegal search, the right to habeas corpus, prohibition of cruel and unusual punishment, and freedom from the illegal seizure of private property. The First, Fourth, Fifth, Sixth, and Eighth Amendments in the Bill of Rights have all been disregarded in the rush to make it easier to investigate people & put them in jail

It is the similarities of the two parties and not the
perceived differences which are bankrupting the United States. Whether Democrat or Republican, the size of the federal government will increase. Whether Democrat or Republican, defense spending will increase. Whether Democrat or
Republican, multi-national corporate interests will dominate over the common good of man. Whether Democrat or Republican, citizens will continue to lose more freedom and liberty. Paul Turner

small government is obsolete in our modern initiative for free trade and globalism. if you want the small government of yester-year, we'll have to go back to protectionism. and extremely low standards for safety, mortality, healthcare, pollution control, and education.

that total bull. small government is needed more than ever. when government gets out of the way we ultimately end up with better healthcare options, better economic options, and better opportunity overall.

the big insurance companies are government. the big hospital conglomerates are government. the AMA are government. the college accreditation committees are government. they are just the government we don't vote for.

how's that? for sure they all will be if obama care goes through. but I think you need to explain your point a bit further.

they set policy more so than government has. are you a physician, or a lawyer, or a college president, or a pentagon hotshot, or a Wal-Mart exec? then you are our government.

that's capitalism, not govt. don't like a doctor, pick a new one (or take your chances without the aid of a skilled physician). same for lawyers. unhappy with a college president, go to another school. "pentagon hotshots"... well, yes, then you're talking govt. by the way, nothing wrong with govt per se... its when they try to take over private areas that govt is a problem. you confuse economic power with government power. the difference is govt holds the monopoly on the use of force.

they are all government entities. they collude and combine standards and practices. on one hand to maximize their profit, on the other to maximize their legitimacy and ward off quackism.
