Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka was today among thousands of mourners who attended the burial ceremony of Esther Wanjiku Maina, the wife to Apostle James Maina Ng'ang'a of Neno Evangelism held at her Ndabibi home in Naivasha Constituency.
Mr. Musyoka urged Kenyans not to panic following the list of six personalities named by the International Criminal Court (ICC) in connection with the 2008 post election violence.
"There is need for us to be patient and not panic following the list of those who have been named over the 2008 post election violence," said Mr. Musyoka.
The Vice President said those who have been named by ICC chief prosecutor Moreno Ocampo have not been found guilty and that they will prove their innocence when they are summoned to appear before the judges and therefore there was nothing to worry.
He said it is time Kenyans live harmoniously and avoid activities which may disrupt their peaceful coexistence, saying there is no need to panic over the Ocampo list.
He said judges at the ICC are professionals who will always ensure the principle of fair trial and natural justice to all individuals named to appear before them.
Mr. Musyoka emphasized on the need for Kenyans to embark on national healing and national reconciliation as the only way to achieve peace and unity in all parts of the country.
He said it is through the revival of the Truth, Justice and Reconciliation commission (TJRC) that Kenyans can reconcile and forgive each other instead of depending on outsiders to solve our own problems.
The Vice President said the issue of ICC should not be politicized ahead of the 2012 general elections.
"If some people are celebrating the ICC issue for their political gains come 2012, then it is not fair," he said.
Assistant ministers Jebii Kilimo (cooperatives), Ferdinand Waititu (Water and Irrigation), Margaret Wanjiru (Housing) and MPs Charles Keter (Belgut) and John Mututho (Naivasha) said Ocampo should let Kenyans solve their own problems. They said with the passage of the new constitution, Kenyans are well placed to solve their own problems without interference from outsiders.
The widow leaves behind her husband and four children.
