Dude! Shred at Max-Q. Bummer. I watched Wildman do one at Lamoile a few years ago, when he was flying a 7" PML that was about eight feet long. He flew it on an M something, I think. You could see the airframe start to wobble along its length at about 7-800 feet altitude. Then the thing sorta folded in the middle.
Turns out he was depending on foam to provide all the internal support. No ribs, no bulkheads, no nuthin'. Couldn't accuse Tim of being too brite on that particular project. Heh.

what kit was that? or was it a scratch built project? Shame it shredded though, it looked really nice on the pad and at lift-off. The speed it was going it would've really knocked a hole in the sky.

@ReSauceFul86 It was a scratch build. LOC tubing with one layer of fiberglass sock. G10 fins from PML. I know better now. Two layers of glass on the tube and tip to tip glass one the fins and it would have survived. Oh well. You live and learn. I got everything back except for the booster and motor case. Expensive mistake. But it was fun. I still havn't pushed the envelope that hard since that flight. This year I am going for Mach 2 at LDRS with an all Carbon fiber rocket. We will see!
