Last Horizon is a one-of-a-kind top-down shooter set on the Magic Planet, a spherical display device. The Magic Planet is a product of Global Imagination (www.globalimagination.com).

Last Horizon was developed by students of Carnegie Mellon University's Entertainment Technology Center, at the Silicon Valley campus.

Last Horizon is a cooperative game; each player gets a ship to play, one red and one green, and can only fight enemies of that color. Each player has their own battles to fight, but the players help each other by communicating the position of enemies to each other. Because of the limited sightlines on a spherical screen, it's vital for players to spread out and use both sets of eyes to cover the whole globe.

We, the Last Horizon team, took advantage of the sphere's unique properties to make a game where the horizon hides challenges, and exploration and communication is a natural part of play.

Sorry for the shaky camerawork, but that's kind of inevitable in filming a game where you're forced to walk around a sphere.

Music is "Square Pegs" by Pain. No one involved with this video has any ownership of that song.
