I love the music in the Throne Room scene at the end of the very original Star Wars (Episode IV), where the warm strings come forward, and the big brass goes back.

There's so much that can be done with that.

So I decided to play it, and then try improvising it in a few styles - namely Mozart, Rachmaninoff, Chopin and Debussy. It was fun overlaying their styles onto John Williams' music.

  • Honesty, I think the original arrangement sounds lacking. Given your talent I think you could make a much better arrangement that would do justice to John Williams.

  • @PianoVader Hello PianoVader. Apparently you mis-understood my intention. The beginning of the video states that the arrangement is one done in the 1970's by Tony Esposito, and not by myself. If you don't like the arrangement, perhaps share your comments with the arranger himself?

  • @PianoVader or....maybe you're saying that that Esposito's arrangement sounds lacking? In which case, you were stating a highly appreciated confidence in my ability to make a great sounding arrangement, to which I say, Thank you very much!

  • Wow, you're just crazy skilled. I enjoyed this very much. Thanks. ;)

  • @spliffffstar Pleasure! Glad you liked it.

  • That was very interesting and educational to me... thank you!

  • More!

  • Wow, internal melody on the Debussy! Awesome job!

  • brilliant but a bit extra technique won't do any harm. why don't you try the bible of the piano technique czerny op 299 and op 740 and i'm assuming that you've already played chopin etudes

  • being a starwars fan and a musician, i can honestly say that that was just awesome. keep those coming

  • @musiclady777 Nice recovery :S

  • @musiclady777 Yes, that is what I was saying. I thought the original Tony Esposito arrangement was lacking. What I was trying to say was that seeing how you were making such great arrangements on the spot that I think you could have made a great arrangement of this beautiful melody. So it was meant at a compliment
