The 3rd place band at the Old Town School of Folk Music's fiddle contest was a group from the Orpheus Hellenic Folklore Society playing music from the Greek Islands, where the fiddle is popular. The dancers came along to show how well the fiddlers drove the dancing. Only the fiddlers were judged. The trio of teenage fiddlers from Orpheus included Itzaki Metropolous, who three years ago took first place in the Youth Division as an11-year-old. Now he's all grown up, musically speaking. (Note: This video shot from the emcee's point of view. The visual is great. The sound not so. Nice documentation, Paul.
I'm glad the dancers were a part of the presentation. Although not a contribution factor to the quality of the fiddling, their presence does add to the music for this video.
