@TheShmoo123 I'm a stokie too & have lived in London & the USA but have now returned to S-on-T, it's the humour I missed while away, stokie peeps make me smile :)

Re the endpiece of the commentary. I reckon Stoke regards itself as more North West than Midlands? What say you?

@TheShmoo123 my gran was from the Potteries and moved to the isle of Skye she always talked fondly of stoke-on-trent its people and how friendly they are.

STOKIE AND PROUD

I was born and bred in the Potteries and moved away in 98 to live in the south. I love being a Stokie and when I return on visits I am always astounded by how friendly everyone is, unlike the south. In the Potteries everyone is so open and trusting. When you leave S-O-T and come back, you realise just how wonderful, warm and friendly the people are. I always feel all warm and fuzzy inside when I come back home and see all the smiley faces and feel the community spirit wrap around me like a hug.

No wonder there's a sense of community, no one can afford to leave and outsiders don't want to come here!
PS, the women are rough.
