Rollins College Campus Movie Fest

Rollins students gathered in the Alfond Sports Center to watch the premiere of the top 16 short films made by Rollins students. Students showcased their short films during the Campus MovieFest Premiere Night, an Oscar-themed awards show.

Winning films in the categories of Best Drama, Best Comedy, Best Documentary and Best Picture were showcased at this event. The night was a great success and the largest premiere night to date, with more than 600 people in attendance. In between screenings, door prizes such as an iPod shuffle were given out to members of the audience, and prizes were also awarded to the winning filmmakers.

As part of Campus MovieFest, more than 500 Rollins students used digital camcorders to create short films. Following a workshop on filmmaking, more than 65 groups of students set out to create their own film masterpieces. A council of judges, comprised of Rollins faculty and prominent figures in the Orlando film business, evaluated the films and narrowed them down to the top 16.
