I have no idea why there is such animosity toward Sinead's version of this Bobby Gentry classic. I think it's an excellent interpretation. Very haunting. Yes, I prefer the original, but this very good in it's own right.

Song is recorded for Warchild foundation "Help" album, and for a good reason, all the money went to school kids from Bosnia at the time. Sinead is just great and it's a nice cover and of course nice original too! I think she did good to Bobbie! :P
