Michele Tihami of IBM discusses plug-in electric hybrid vehicles. Part of an ICCF Energy Efficiency Technology and Nature Conservation Congressional Briefing.

The Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007 (EISA 2007) mandates significant changes in how we can consume and mange our energy sources. Demand is increasing for new technologies that provide large energy savings, are cost effective, and are consumer friendly. While we struggle with how to manage scarce energy resources, some organizations have taken the lead in developing and fielding new technologies that will help maximize our energy efficiencies and limit the impact on nature. We are please to present these nationally acclaimed speakers:

Energy Efficiency and Demand Response: Melissa Lavinson, Director, Federal Environmental Affairs and Corporate Responsibility for PG&E Corporation. Ms. Lavinson focuses on environmental and climate-related issues at the federal level and serves as the project manager for PG&E's Corporate Responsibility Report and associated efforts.

TV Energy Efficiency: Tracey Peacock, Global Market Manager, 3M Optical Systems Division. Ms. Peacock is focused on the LCD TV industry and on emerging consumer and regulatory trends relating to TV power consumption. Her global marketing responsibilities include 3M's current and new optical film technologies and their impact on reducing the power consumption of LCD TVs.

Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles: Michele Tihami, Global Regulatory Policy Leader for Energy and Utilities, IBM. Ms. Tihami is responsible for policy strategy and position development working globally with utility companies, energy policy makers, and other partners to accelerate the development of an intelligent utility network and the integration of renewable energy sources and distributed energy assets.
