An interview with LuAnn Apple, Executive Director of Melbourne Avian Rescue Sanctuary M.A.R.S., a Florida based public charity which is dedicated to the rescue and care of parrots and other exotic birds. LuAnn talks about her long-time passion for birds, how the organization was founded, about the importance of donations in order to rehabilitate the (often abandoned) birds - and introduces the audience to several of the unique, lively and funny feathered inhabitants of her aviary.

Don't listen to @lovetheparrots, I go there all the time and have never experience this happening. If you don't beleive me you can go for yourself.

I don't agree with free flighted parrots outside. I just don't get it! Where's their protection???? What's to stop a hawk or other predator from hurting or worse..killing them???

this place is very nasty and the birds are homed in rusty..small cages that they cannot even spread their wings..what you see in this video is not what is real..go there and ask to see where the birds are housed...really look around...sick birds, boarders, all in the same room bumped up against each other in a filthy environment...
a M2 in the same cage with 2 blue and gold macaws? eating off the floor of the cage where they poop,,,walking thru the poop..poop in their water

MARS is a wonderful and exciting place! I would suggest anyone who is able to stop by for a visit. We have two adopted parrots from MARS and they are wonderful!

Wow, what an awesome video! Great job Jennifer Leslie and LuAnn you sure seem to know your stuff! I really learned a lot about Parrot Rescue from watching this (love the comment about the Cockatoos and 2 year olds!) and the birds look like they make phenomenal pets! Be on the lookout for my donation, I really think what you are doing at MARS is fantastic!

These parrots are the cutest! LuAnn, kudos to you for all what you to save these birds' lives and find new homes for them. The story of your parrot rescue M.A.R.S. and your achievements are impressive. Keep up the good work!
