  • @TheWhatsinaname Okay, I stand or sit corrected, this would have been the Tuesday, June 14, 1966 episode.

  • For everyone's information I've done a detailed analysis of classicGL's clip sets and have been able to get the exact dates of when these "The Guiding Light" episodes took place: "Shadows of the Past", Part 1, 2 & 3 first aired on June 10, 1966 which would have been a Friday. ClassicGL was missing or couldn't get a hold of the Monday, June 13 or Tuesday, June 14, 1966 episodes.

  • GL was noted at one time for having death's and mysteries all the time. Reading the show's time-line there was usually a murder or an attempted murder of some sort going on...I read about one of Mike's wives, Charlotte, being murdered by a character named Kit Vestid? Oh and then the Stanley Norris murder...then Malcom Granger's murder...then the shootings that took place during Roger's story...and the murders of Carrie Todd then later, Eli Sims...Susan Piper...and on and on.

  • That's quite a memory. I wish this stuff was available today. Did you like Leslie?

  • i remember the story of Madeline Ballinger coming to town, and Leslie going to an attic to look for a portrait, because 'Madeline' reminded her of someone..i remember Barbara Rodell playing Leslie at this time, and Lynn Adams returning (from being on Secret Storm), with Leslie being killed in a car accident in 1976...didn't know that Steve Jackson was not her natural father...

  • For some reason I thought Steve actually was her father, and the vengeful mother was just lying. Leslie was such a big character, it's a shame GL killed her off. The Bauers could use her now. Or should I say, Bauer.

  • Of course eight years after these episodes (in 1974), "The Guiding Light" audience would learn that Leslie's mother, Victoria Ballenger, never died, and that Dr. Steve wasn't really her biological father.

  • Actually between Leslie's marriage to Ed and Mike she'd marry Stanley Norris (the father of Ken, Andy and Holly -- Leslie was briefly Ken, Andy and Holly's stepmother) and be falsely accused and then exonerated for Stanley's murder.

  • I vaguely remember sme of these characters. I remember the older woman being a real witch. Yeah Leslie is Rick's mom.

  • Thanks so much for this! I've never seen any eps from the 60's before.
