@curtisw2007 No, the 5.56x45mm NATO cartridge was invented for the original M16 rifle to replace the heavy 7.62x51mm cartridge that was being used. The goal was to have a round that was more lightweight to carry and easier to control in automatic fire. And the 5.56 is pretty lethal if you actually know how to shoot worth anything. I've never had a problem with a 5.56 putting a man down. Only problem I've had is it not piercing body armor very well. But the 6.8 does the job.

Just putting it out there, the 5.56 was not intended to kill. It was intended to wound so that soldiers would have to tend to casualties and take more men from the fight.

@NintendoPowerFTW agreed not only would this 6.8 round get the job done with more force but it would do it while sounding godly to.. i couldnt listen to the dude talking had to pay attention to the background fire
