This is one of my favorite Korean soups that I learned to make from my mom. When I moved to the USA, I missed my mom's soup so bad, but I didn't know what kind of fish to buy. One day, I found some frozen haddock at Walmart and tried this soup with it. It was almost same taste as my mom's soup, so I was very happy to find this haddock. (Good price) From that time, I often buy haddock and make this soup. I'm glad to share this recipe with you. Thanks !!!

  • Hi aeriskitchen, do you put japanese Miso (Miso paste) in it? I am asking because it is not part of your ingredience list, but i guess that you've used it in the video. I also have a secound question. In China a soup is the last part of a dish, here in germany it is the first served part. How is it in Korea? When do the koreans eat the soup? At first, at last, as a side dish in the middle of the whole meal, or just allways as you like??

sorry..but I didn't use miso (soybean paste) in this video.. I wonder what you saw..^^:; aha.. in korea.. we serve.. everything at the same time.. rice.. soup..and side-dishes.. you eat together.. a little bit of rice...then.. side-dishes..and soup.. take turns.. ^^ it was a fun question..thanks

  • @aeriskitchen Thank you for your answer. It was a missunderstanding: When you said 3:00" Ad half a teaspoon of minced garlic, i understood half a teaspoon of miso ...paste?". But in the meanwhile i realized it by myself that i was wrong and you meant minced garlic. So I cooked your dish, exactly with your recipe,... but with pangasius (shark catfish) in stead of haddock. It tasts as great that i wanna cook some more of your dishes.

  • I was wondering because of the taste of your soup wasn't that hot as i thought. Maybe because (peperoni) hotness is not able to disolve in water (But i oil). I thought korean food is always very hot. But that's ok, the spicyness, the hotness comes by big chunks of peperoni direktly in the mouth of the eater. That gives you a kind of "fresh" hotness that that goes great with the other ingrediences.

  • @megatron74

    add red pepper powder ^^

  • Curious if you wanted to make it spicy, could use add red pepper paste and red pepper powder.
