That's the original vertical back fist strike for Heian Sandan (Tate Uraken-Uchi). If you can, check out pictures of Yoshitaka (Gigo) Funakoshi performing the same technique. It's supposed to be vertical. A lot of versions of the original Okinawan kata, Pinan Sandan, uses the same uraken-uchi.
