I love collecting 16mm prints, I got a few. If I had the money, I would only purchase movies on 16mm. Long live 16mm.

Very, very well done!!!! I am a collector of 16mm prints as well, and the obscure & delightfully ephemeral material that can be found on 16mm (from old tv movies to educational films, the latter making up the bulk of my collection) is a plus.

And my favorite part about 16mm (which DVDs sadly lack) is the preceding leader (or tail) with the countdowns, slates, china girls, markings, test frames, etc.

Mr. Robinson, thank you very much for producing this short.

This is really great, I am a filmmaker myself and I think everyone should see this that collects, wants to collect 16mm prints. I am starting to get some really great titles now and I'm hooked!-CT

I just want to applaud the filmmakers for making such brave choices. Mr. West, despite his obvious disability has a genuine passion for film, though he can't see it. It took courage for Mr. Robinson to use the unsighted Mr. West as his main speaker but not mention his disability. If Mr. West can take the time to sit in front of his projector to feel the warmth of those images, can't we at least take the time to watch one. What courage.

That last shot, with the rhythmic slapping of the tail, was so powerfully symbolic, I teared up.

I agree, though I've only ever shot Super 8 and not 16mm. Both just have a feeling of then-ness. So far, the closest thing digital has come to super-8's look is the Intel CS-430 webcam. (albeit at a much lower resolution)

And the Mattel Vidster also has a super-8 look to it (especially the videos from it posted here on YT, I posted a test vid here on my account made from my Vidster)...
