Roadwork in downtown St. John's, Newfoundland.

I was so intrigued by the traffic snarl and flagman running around like a headless chicken that I had to go up to the roof of Bowering's and take a short video.

Is there any reason why this type of roadwork cannot be completed outside regular business hours? Water Street is the most congested street in St. John's, and this construction company (either on direction from their bosses or from the City itself) decided to do this work at 3:00 in the afternoon.

As can be seen, traffic was almost at a standstill, and the intersection of Water Street and McBride's Hill was a complete mess.

Unfortunately, I missed the most entertaining bit.

Lol yeah, doing road work outside of business and rush hour hours would make too much sense lol. I try not to drive around in St. John's during rush hour, especially in the summer because of all the road work.
